About Andres

I was born to my parents Olivia and George on July 23, 1996, at the Coulston Foundation, a biomedical laboratory in New Mexico. I was taken from my mother and admitted to the nursery that same day. Five days later, I received my first routine blood work. At two months old I was given ketamine for the first time for monthly physical exams. These monthly blood draws would continue until I was fourteen months old. At that time, I was “discharged in apparent good health for shipment to Bioqual. Save the Chimps has no information on what happened during my time at Bioqual.

In 2002, I was among the 266 chimpanzees rescued from the Coulston Foundation. These days, I live in the Florida sun on a beautiful island in Freddy’s group, a family group with more than twenty chimps. I am still lovable and affectionate and I capture the heart of all of my caregivers with my grin and distinctive greeting. My easygoing personality ensures I get along with everyone in my family group. Although STC may never know what happened in my past, my future is bright and filled with love at Save the Chimps.
