Alpha: Connor

This island’s namesake, Ron, was a remarkable chimp who passed away of heart disease. Ron’s island is home to 18 chimpanzees and has the largest age range. Melody was born in 2007 and is the youngest chimpanzee at Save the Chimps. The oldest chimp in Ron’s family is Gail who was born in the wild and is estimated to have been born in 1972. Melody, along with fellow youngsters, Marlon, Dylan, Connor, and Kramer, bring a lot of energy to the group! Their rambunctious behavior keeps the older residents young by engaging in play.
